In 1997 Modena was listed on the UNESCO world heritage list, not only for its beauty, its artistic and architectonic excellences, but also for the intellectual richness that made Modena one of the core centers for engine development, lyric, ceramic and biomedical industry.

Modena is a sign of the excellent cultural tradition of the XII century and one of the most famous examples of an architectural complex where religion and civil rights cohexist in a Christian medioeval city.
In Modena, like in any major medioeval centers in Europe, we find cathedrals and Churches of majestic importance.
Modena is a city of arts, with its Duomo representing one of the most important romanic masterpieces and the Ghirlandina tower in Piazza Grande, which was declared in 1997 by UNESCO National World Heritage Foundation; with its art pieces located in the Galleria and Library Estense and with its Palazzo Ducale which is the headquarters of the Military Academy of Modena.
