Our region Emilia-Romagna is once again involved in the Giro d’Italia which stops in the city of Cesena on Sunday 14 May 2023.

Giro d’Italia is one of the three most important races in the mondial calendar.

Unione Ciclistica Internazionale has included it in its UCI World Tour professional circuit with the other two major international races, the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Spain.

Historically it is to be considered the second most prestigious race after the French one, even if, at the turn of the forties and the fifties (at the time of the Coppi-Bartali duels) and during the seventies, the prestige and the number of great cyclists registered brought the Giro to equal importance with the Tour.
